Howard Technology Park is linked closely – both geographically and operationally – with two important institutions of higher learning.

Jones County Junior College (JCJC), located near Howard Technology Park, is playing a critical role in the growth and operation of the park. JCJC has already developed an extensive curriculum in technological specialization for both traditional and non-traditional students. The college is also spearheading the Jones County Junior College Advanced Technology Center, a training and development facility located within Howard Technology Park.

The University of Southern Mississippi in nearby Hattiesburg also exudes a positive influence on the development of the park. Besides its excellent curriculum in technology-based sciences, it is also home to the Polymer Science Center.

As Howard Technology Park grows, these two institutions in particular will play a vital role both directly and indirectly. Their commitment to technology development is a key ingredient in the region's expected growth.
