Jones County - We're Still Making History!

Formed by a special act of Mississippi Legislature in 1983, the economic development authority of Jones County (EDA) brought several organizations under one umbrella to promote and develop the region.

Utilizing local government funding and private-sector income, the EDA maximizes available resources by maintaining a concentrated, full-time effort on making our county more economically viable.  Working toward job and wealth creation, the EDA’s program of work falls into two major categories, economic development and community development.

The full-time staff of EDA combines over 100 years of economic and community development experience.  Each of the six full-time and one part-time employees have distinct responsibilities, with unique expertise and talents dedicated to making Jones County the best it can be.  Continuing education keeps the staff knowledgeable about the most current information that will benefit Jones County.
